He loves Me / He Loves Met NOT..!! Graduate or NOT a Graduate..!!

5 07 2010

And why should our revered elite be educated..?? When, allegedly, our Father of the nation, Jinnah was a non-graduate, then why should we be..?? And why should be lament the pressures of studies and lynching of our teachers..?Having the best laugh

And why shouldn’t we be using booties to make a safer exit and an entry in to the assemblies..? Honestly speaking, has there been any connect with what we cram over and over again with what we have to face in the wide wide world..?? Ever..??

And then Einstein was a drop out, his nation then dropped the Atom Bomb. Bill Gates, another abhorred, and disliked by ladies stuff, but world’s experience brought him divine respect and fame. Steve Jobs or Mr. IPhone, was another varsity failure and gave the world a world in their palms.

So, with this imperative and chemistry, drop outs achieve out of this world ideas. Impossible in schools are possible in the wide world of the school. QED.??

In that case, Wazeer e Aala Ka Khaab, Parha Likha Punjab (Chief Minister’s Dream, Literate Punjab, (doesn’t sound poetic in English, it neved did, Shakespeare was just another Media’s Shilpa Shetty and Sania Shoaib like character and historians call it renaissance..!! )..), then every resident of Punjab is a born scientist..!! WOW..!!

If Jinnah wasn’t graduate, so isn’t Zardari. So are we correct to assume we shall see a new Pakistan soon..?? err..Geographically or hypothetically..?? As anything outside the Assemblies rides on paper boats destined to be flushed down the already choked sewers and Monsoon’s already approaching. Don’t save any water please, as a bit of relief to Pakistanis and they achieve much. They achieved the BOMB in sullen peace, so keep them moving, keep them scattered but never keep them thinking. If they start thinking, you lose.  Chaudhary Iftikhar didn’t think, he denied. And you see the ruckus Mr. Musharraf..??

Many theories have been afloat to emancipate the nation, but only and only NON GRADUATES carry the torch. Believe me, Chaudhary Iftikhar Sahab, if all the NON GRADUATES are kicked out to UK, Spain, to the Bosphorus, the States (but since when States allowed political gurus to take refuge in exile in her land..? No traitor was great enough to secure a flat, after the sun of rule set and blurred their fates.), then who stays back to run the affairs..? Mr. Justice, the Graduates of our country are made to run the mills and wheels of Western economies and not ours. The remaining have to endure heat, corruption, inflation, filthy politics and what else graduates have to do..?

Jinnah knew the fact, so he got away with it without a degree but something quite valuable instead. So guys, go for something valuable, a piece of paper or a piece of land..? You decide.

So NON GRADUATES are the grease of our machinations. Imran Khan is a graduate, his mistake. NON GRADUATES and Dasti NON GRADUATES are the answer to the problems of the world. Its not the terrorists, they are GRADUATES too..!!

Emergency & 9th November and Beyond

9 11 2007

6 days since the promulgation of the emergency. Media, most of it is under the locks, but no public turmoil seems to be outpouring against it save GEO news, which was and still is quite vocal for the emergency that seems only existing on GEO. The public response, particularly, the business community welcomed the move. Ironic. The business community cannot be bought overnight, but how come the community sides with the General?

Seeing this trend, the trend of serenity of an issue which was taken up quite seriously, where some of the EU countries and only 1 from the Far East, ‘Japan’, have upped the pressure through their usual threatening tones of banning Pakistan their aid and ending her tumultuous and tiring marriage with Common Wealth.

Now, with the expected protest call given by the Bibi jee, which was efficiently foiled yet again, which reflects management from Punjab’s side which is going strong and also non callous response of the public, situation at the ground level seems normal and life is going as it is. No restlessness, as planned and tried-to-be-instigated was visible. The conspirators and think tanks which see in Benazir the opening up of the nuclear assets and handing over the Doctor over the US, she already has proved the very political behaviour to devour Pakistan by providing the lists of the Sikh freedom fighters back in the early 90’s to buy the Prime Minister’s post, the treacherous way to which goes through many deals and White House, want her to be on the forefront and vocal about her position. The sheep of Pakistan a.k.a the Public, are short sighted and have loss of memory; even so, many might not be able to recall the former name of Faisalabad. With such mindset, democracy is another game to bank on the monetary reserves which saw the graph rising though gradually.

Now with elements gaining strength in Swat valley, situation there is still not being taken to note by the military. If it does, the fate would same as Bugti and Lal Masjid. Period.

With the current situation, in the NWFP, race is on for the future stakeholder of Pakistan between 2 contenders, Bibi and Military; latter being in the power, Bibi stresses interim government to oversee transparent elections which wouldn’t be possible under the current regime which would influence the elections in February to be swayed in their favour to keep the Bibi out. Possible, perhaps.

Emergency could be a herald, to gain time for more homework as pressure mounts with each passing day. The present Government, till now managed, with the plethora of projects being completed in more of a rush than calculated to woo more of voters who seldom have voted for any of these advocates of democracy carrying tainted history and democracy.

What is to Come?

Now with the facts available; no public outpour on emergency, Government now showing lax to allow some media channels which are screaming at the top pitch in futile reflecting their biased opinion and propaganda rich purposes to derail the Government. The conspirators would resort to some tactic to see the Government on its toes and doldrums. What could that move be? More of attacks? Possible. More of unrest in NWFP? Perhaps. Free hand to the militants in Swat who aren’t Taliban as realities confirm them to be Uzbeks; Ahmed Shah Masood too had an Uzbek background and also had Indian support and enjoyed public relations with the latter. The militancy would then be geared up at the border; foreign pressure would mount on the military. But they too wouldn’t be sitting without a plan. Maps would have been drawn by now, strategies chalked out, locals would have been invited for more rigorous support in return of peace and tranquility and control.

Much is to be seen, coming weeks are crucial for Pakistan.

The upcoming long march (between 15 and 18th of November) in protest of emergency would again be taken with an iron fist as precedented and wouldn’t show any promise but would keep investors on the wary, still. But politicians cooing while pigeonholed, would at least have something to exhibit that they too form the part of the game and that they shouldn’t be stashed out from deck of options the foreign lobbies have before them. But politicians too would be shown the exit this 15th which justifies the long march to justify their political ‘existence’ or be left out, simple.

Let’s wait and watch, how the stars form and the term in the Wild Wild West too coming to its ebb of end, things would change a bit quickly. Possible perhaps.

Emergency – Another Covert Musharraf and Iftikhar Partnership in the Making

3 11 2007

With the headlines already made since this evening. Pakistan has yet another time been put into a coma, although a short one this time. So much already said and more done than said. Let’s read between the lines as to what has caused this ruckus which caught most of us with surprise.

9th March is appropriate to start with. Or a little earlier than this; before this day, Rule of Law was not respected. Musharraf played a card, Chaudhary Iftikhar was mishandled and dismissed on puny charges, if such charges are taken in seriously, then many of the coterie of the present and earlier governments would have to seek self-exile and that too British sponsored. After the 9th, the public of Pakistan was given a new life. Although the form in 1947 but the spirit waited. The West stresses on the restoration of Democracy; but what has Democracy evolved for the people of Pakistan? Nothing but princely mansions never to be seen and questioned by the Pakistani citizen. Now after the respect was exposed; the respect of the Supreme Court and rule of Law, if noticed no democratic was that vocal for it. Why? They knew that if legislation, courts, Chief Justice are introduced as upholding rule of law, the heydays of usurping the public tax – money would be history. This was unacceptable. For this very conspiring notion of corruption, Jinnah was put to rest earlier. If the constitution and rule of Law awakes, black and white business sees the door. Musharraf tried this with the black garb of the political ascetic. But alas, the People of Pakistan can digest those who rob them of their pennies and build their mansions and factories.

So now, with the emergency in place, another pawn, another development. The Government’s anti-petition was under hearing and the Government knew it that it had lost ground. Now upcoming is the 18th of November when the President had to take oath as the President for the next 5 years and colluding was the Swat encounter which has geared up unanticipatingly; kudos to the Indian consulate in Jalalabad, which is overseeing terrorist activities in and around the NWFP and Baluchistan. Pakistan has to take note of this.

Under a very planned scheme, the Pakistan Military has been framed into this. Once it is made to believe by the people that Pakistan Military is against the very own people, the ground to act gets more stressed and limited and options do get lesser. Not to mention the Indian hand is very much active here. Nobody ever heard of Maulana Fazlullah, who camps alongside the border where he might be getting assistance from the Indian Consultate. Everone’s speaking of the Taliban here and there, but what about unseen forces which are out to bring ill-repute to the Pakistan Military. Then the unabated and uninformed American bombing is yet another cause of disrespect gaining against the Pakistan Military.

A well conceived notion is being imbibed into the common people against the Pakistan Military. Seeing this and the recent development going in behind and inside the books of law, a.k.a Chaudhary Iftikhar considering the legitimacy of Musharraf holding double oaths. Musharraf had to confront the two way road. Either the legal and legislative route or the one which allows more intensive decisive actions on such elements.

Not to mention, the Lal Masjid issue was leniently dealt with in its infancy. But where did from the weapons land in the Madrassah? Indian hand? Foreign financing? Probably, possibly. Indian elements with the connivance of Afghan compatriots and US dollars, much magic is going unnoticed.

Now with the emergency in place, Musharraf has options to sweep out such elements. But the initiators of rogue upsurge are themselves the holders of constitutional democracy. Musharraf would have to consider the ‘loss’ of such elements to consider the welfare of the State.

Nonetheless, what can be pre-maturely assessed, is that the President and the Chief of Army Staff had an intensive discourse with other of his comrades. The decision to eliminate the elements working in and out of Pakistan to destabilise it would have been reached and this ‘Emergency’ is the first card played.

Nonetheless, this emergency was mandatory. As the public now again, blindly stood up for the lady, who previously doesn’t have a nice track record. Proven but the public is just a herd of sheep which offers its leather for purses which hold the money but never bringing back the sheep, ever, life. Moreover had the Supreme Court upheld the verdict of illegitimacy of double oaths, the unruly elements springing up would have had some space to get dynamic. Democracy has proved beyond doubt in history that it holds position to be bloated and failed. Nothing positive can be expected as long as its Muslim nations.

The last card would be the reinstatement of Chaudhary Iftikhar as the Chief Justice. This is what I read in between. Probably, possible.

Lawyer’s Day or Media’s?

29 09 2007

Every day in Pakistan is a tourism attractive day, without exaggeration. At least for the journalists if not the tourists. Yesterday it was Supreme Court which saw disrespect from the Civilian side, exposing its weaker point against the necessity of the Uniform and today it was the Election Commission. What would be tomorrow? Minister’s mansion? Utility stores? University? Shahra e Dastoor (yet again)?

Name any place, which needs attention from the authorities for various reasons; sanitation, upkeep, maintenance. Call the opposition, throw a regale, pay through the foreign bank accounts, a little promises, nasty last minute meetings and within minutes the place would be the hot spot, springing to action, much talked about. Due to unemployment, manpower is abundant. Opposition at least can, in the upcoming elections, boast of amassing unemployed people for the past 5 years and providing quality entertainment at the expense of ill-treatment, ill-repute, traffic blocks, disinvestment, etc and swaying away their daily tension doses through such vast and unyielding arrangements. But what about the Opposition’s Balance Sheets? Leave it to the NAB for another time.

Just for the day, today was yet another extra ordinary day. Pakistan had nothing so to show today, neither Jinnah remembered it nor Iqbal. But the lawyers and media people swarmed in around the Election Commission which passed the nominations of Musharraf and other of his opposing en troupe.

Without notice and invitation, Police started baton charging the lawyers, in the first episode, then the media people were taken by surprise. Shelling and then Baton Charge. A battlefield had erupted right before the Supreme Court and the Election Commission in the Capital of Pakistan. Where in the world such dynamism is evident. Stone age? Not necessarily but Stone aged mentalities of the sheep which fail to understand, Black Sheep (sponsored by political parties and their leadership, which were altogether absent today, financed ) which are present thinly, among the deceived and unsuspecting crowd, but loaded with stones and with yesterday’s arena even tomatoes and eggs were the ammunition to start off the ruckus; to bring both the parties at a point of physical conflict and Pakistani nation never hesitates to jump into one. Result? International media, which in some cases sponsors such acts of humiliation for Pakistan under the dictation of hidden lobbies working underhand to destabilise her, leaves no stone unturned to project Pakistan as a failed ‘Nuclear State’.

Working hands and minds in the assemblies are gearing up for yet another episode. It could be tomorrow or now. No one knows; but its apparent someone and something has to benefit from this unrest. Musharraf? Perhaps. Opposition? It was never sincere. Ruling parties? They too have to have an honourable and financially sustaining retired life. Foreign lobbies? They can’t stand the nuclear capability. Rajiv Gandhi, was not the most sly of all the Gandhis, but clever enough to deal with Khalistan issue through Benazir Bhutto who deftly gave in the lists and captured the premiership. Wanted is rule’s court’s ownership, no matter at what cost.

Nothing seems stable in Pakistan. Prices to Politics. Eyes watching her. With October the 6th approaching fast, with today’s perspective, arrangements are getting underway to humiliate and blotch the uniform again and in a more worse manner. Today’s saga could be a trailer. Who knows.

Supreme Court Tailors the Uniform

28 09 2007

Awaited verdict, arriving winters through September and it brings in faltering hopes of the political parties which lost no chance to criticise the same Supreme Court and the Chief Justice, for which they rallied and braved the heat of Punjab in June and July, when the Uniform was declared as legal today around at 15.00 (PST, +500 GMT).

Political parties, which had all preparations in place, had the President and the commander been stripped off. The bets lay lose and naked. The same anticipation was in the air when the Big B (Nawaz Sharif) was expected to be around and sent back to his old refuge, old barracks yet again. The anticipation was blown to pieces. Alas, Pakistan public yet again fails to realise what good differs from bad and how. Goats and sheep all get crowded when its time to get slaughtered, amassed doesn’t entitle celebration.

The Government, has been sly, cautiously accepting criticism but knowingly peeking into other’s cards but keeping low on it’s. Government yet again gets a breath of life, though this time it doesn’t look so short. The present Government now can envisage a confirmed victory in the upcoming elections when, at the critical and sensitive moment, Supreme Court rallies in to shove and show its support for the Army.

Sharifs and Bhuttos, who saw convenient death of their so-called ‘Charter of Democracy’. Rumours are around that Benazir engineered the slip of Nawaz Sharif this time. Once a rival, always a rival; in between a relationship of convenience, relationship of Brothers and Sisters. Raakhi Bandhan gets sour. Dirty savage politics.

Be it the uniform or else, the poor public stays numbed and sidelined as ever. Inflation spiralling smoothly, coffers being filled, bridges are falling. No not the London Bridge but the Mayor’s Bridge. Friends and relatives enjoying protocols and services. Uniform does come in with compromises, much work too has been done. Political parties even now after the passage of 5 years, didn’t prove themselves deserving.

Not a single university, hospital, energy sector regulation, industrialisation, unified support against inflation sprouted from the Province of NWFP, where MMA enjoys its monopoly. Undoubtedly, the present Government would have been on its toes had the MMA delivered its promise. Had there been a single percent improvement in education in NWFP, the Madrassahs would never have been in the news. MMA stands failed here. Totally flop.

How could then Political parties come out in protest. What blank cheque have they delivered to the public? How come can they imagine support in the upcoming election? How can Election Commission expect free and fair election? With paltry situation and ground facts lying bare like this, where exquisite airports are constructed around slums, how would the public even care to use their right which is financed from their taxes and nominates Wolves of the jungle roaming around?

All thing aside, the lawyers, who joined the procession and breathed life in the independence of Courts, reduced down to savage usage of language right after the verdict. Anticipating sunny day and down came the rain. What to do? Run but they slander the Judges who were quite indiscriminate and professional with 6-3 difference. Even the Golden Goal, if applied, Uniform wins. Respect the law. Whatsoever. Period.

Before the international Media, the better half of thoughts should be exercised. A little respect is expected. Whatever comes down their way, its good. What goes around the block, they get personal. How justified is this?  Everyday is not a Sunday.

Double Sawaari Ban for Nawaz Sharif

11 09 2007

What a fiasco indeed; Court orders return, so he returns but has to take the next flight back and “casted back to where it whence came from”. No not Mordor or Mount Doom, but indeed Pakistan Muslim League (N) has faced a setback for once; revealing its underlying crevices and miscommunication and ill coordination. But nonetheless, the political drama, which was in global focus and most spoken about in every media, was an interesting flick. Police baton charge, running workers, news flash and the media makes some money to keep it alive for another days. Unexpected becomes hot and expected get an easy but also unwanted exit. Nawaz Sharif probably didn’t envisage for surely the jampacked and the talked about ‘Double Sawaari’ (pillion riding, one flight and the next).

Many a players are now counting their cards, the experts who thought have good cards are bewildered how a confused state and more confused being the Rulers are, managed to avoid a massive conflict that would have overtaken the clout over Islamabad. The clout of 8 years, the clout of the Uniform.

Indeed Musharraf, was walking a thin line, under which lies the Molten lava of Mount Doom, but nonetheless after exiting the club of his intelligence advisors, Shujaat has shown him the respite in Q league. Better steps are being taken, Supreme Court being dealt responsibly and with respect, Benazir sent into quandary and lesser votes and confidence which was the need of the hour to soothe the rising of the confused herd of sheep in Pakistanis, as ever.

With Nawaz Sharif now taking the back seat uncomfortably, he has left his icon back in London to put in pressure maintained and keep it simmering. But, everyday is not a Sunday. Bygones are bygones. Shahbaz and Kulsoom combined can revive the rusting Ittefaq Foundries but not their party to rule Pakistan for 4 years. Not even 4 hours.

Hopeful Benazir too is surrounded, she must cautiously opt to have a peaceful kill to her leadership and party, which seems is the motive of the ruling parties and let music go on as usual. Benazir assumed with the return of the Big B a.k.a Nawaz, she might win some of the grounds to take over the ruling party through their psychotic acquired pressure that had mounted on them since March 9, but now the tables have turned but dust has not settled down for sure. With this incident, the ruling party has sent across the message that, “we have global partners and affiliations and powers locally, so step in with care.”

Stoking regional interest, which saw Saad Hariri and Saudi parties to intervene though in a softer tone, revealed that Musharraf and his coterie had been at work for the past 8 years. The claims that Musharraf’s party hadn’t had any Foreign policy as such have been humbly tamed.

Not to mention, this validates the economic policies of Shaukat Aziz as well. But all is not flowery and neither its spring season; the nation is looking forward to the upcoming elections either tainted or fair and free. Nothing’s free in the corporate world. Even time is money. PML (N), PPP are running fast out of time and options. At the end of the tunnel, only 2 people seem emerging, Musharraf and Chief Justice.

For the reception, its reported that MMA and none of its workers were there to receive the 2 time PM. My sympathies for PML (N).  Imran Khan too sounded acquiesced over this, perhaps there is much to come for him from the above. Promises and protocol, perhaps.

Now what seems to be on the cards for the Government is, how to brush aside Bibi Jee. With the recent development or call a feather in their hat, this isn’t collossal as well. Bibi Jee is not a spanish Bull and the Matador this time is armed. Armed with advisors, Shujaat, Police force from Pervaiz Ilahi and the Military Guns.

Sugar Scandal and Pakistan’s NAB – Fictitious and Shaky Truths

19 08 2007

With news coming in of a possible marriage between Democracy and dictatorship in Pakistan. The charred and debased institution of NAB is up against the former democratic leaders in the Sugar Scandal.

Below is an excerpts from Business Recorder’s editorial (www.brecorder.com)

EDITORIAL (August 19 2007): In a report it presented before the Supreme Court recently, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) lent credence to rumours that blamed the sugar crisis of 2004-06 on the who-is-who list of Pakistani politicians. It names PML president Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, former prime minister Nawaz Sharif and his brother Shahbaz Sharif, Asif Ali Zardari, Federal Ministers Humayun Akhtar and Jehangir Tareen, Altaf Saleem, Nasarullah Dareshak, Anwer Cheema, and PML leader Mian Azhar, who between them are alleged to have hoarded as much as 316,690 metric tons of sugar, pushing its price up from Rs 21 to Rs 45 per kg.

According to the NAB report, Humayun Akhtar, his brother Haroon Akhtar and their cousin Shamim were the biggest hoarders with a consolidated stock of 99,464 metric tons of sugar at the Kamalia, Tandlianwala, Miran and Layyah mills. At the second position were the two Sharif brothers’ whose three mills stashed away 68,648 metric tons. Haroon Akhtar has strongly countered the report in a press release issued on Friday, saying.

“The reasons given for sugar price hike in 2004-06 and other facts in the report are totally fabricated and concocted”. He explained that the Tandlianwala Sugar Mill, of which he is the chief executive, is incorrectly grouped with Kamalia and Layyah to give the impression that his group had the largest sugar stock at a certain point in time.

That may be a valid explanation. He also gave a detailed account of how and when the stock positions are at their highest and lowest points, depending on the crop related seasonal factors.

It was only normal for the mills to have rapidly rising stocks in November-March period, and to store ‘excess sugar’ to be sold in the following months. In other words, the sugar crisis was not the outcome of any law breaking on the part of the mill owners.

But the press release went on to accuse the “sponsors” of the NAB report of “mala fide intent.” It completely trashed the report, saying that it was prepared without any research or analysis, and its frequent leakage to the media was politically motivated to defame certain people in the industry. It remains a mystery though why NAB would want to defame politicians most of whom belong to the ruling party.

In fact, NAB did not do itself any good when it quietly shelved its inquiry in March 2006 amid public accusations that most of those involved in the sugar crisis held important public positions, and hence got away with scandalous profiteering in such a sensitive food item as sugar.

Between them the industry representatives and NAB have been creating confusion with regard to the real reasons and the identity of those behind the sugar crisis. The two sides give entirely differing versions of what happened. It may be recalled that poor sugarcane crop was said to have led to sugar shortages and price hike.

The press release issued by TSML chief executive reiterated that a severe shortage of sugarcane in 2004-05 due to drought increased the sugarcane prices manifold. The NAB report agrees about the shortage, but says it was created artificially by the “mill owners’ front men” who bought the commodity in bulk, contributing to the price surge.

“This rampant malpractice,” avers the report, “has been an upfront justification by the mill owners to jack up the sugar prices.” It is a pretty serious allegation.

Also bewildering is the NAB explanation that its inquiry was creating an upheaval in the market and therefore it was discontinued to restore market stability. Those whose names appear on the hoarders’ list owe it to themselves to clear their names and the NAB inquiry must be brought to its logical culmination.

NAB, now being efficiently being manipulated to promote the PPP, renders itself to be prescribed a therapy in the ICU supervised by the Supreme Court. NAB, which if utilised unbiased, would come a long way in correcting the undoings of many. But taking the first step for the longer miles is indeed the daunting step nobody which is ready to discover. But the Supreme Court has indeed, broken the silence and the ice. NAB should accordingly open the cases of all the politicians, living or otherwise. When donkeys can be court martialled in the Military, why not the civilians. After all, Europe and Americas fed centuries to have culminated to what they are.

Simple legislation and moral respect of the same is expected. But who is to do the cleaning up of the dirty work, which is high-dividend paying and aptly encashing. Destructuring the infrastructure, relieving the masses, deflowering the black flower which sustains on the poor’s hard earned taxes, seems a fallacy but nonetheless possible. Much would have to be given up. Still its not too late to rediscover.

Not only Nawaz Sharif, Benazir, who recently requested ‘general’ acquittance for all politicians is no boon, should also be tried. She is Oxford educated, why doesn’t she initiate her election campaign from there? She can’t, as Laws have to be abided, which our politicians have to learnt to bypass so efficiently and land themselves into the mansions.

Jamia.Hafsa.-.Dead.Bodies.Ain’t.Dead

23 07 2007

Now comes in another version, to save the media some easy money and some jobs, of Jamia Hafsa that the so called ‘Abduction’ of Aunty Shameem (Madda Zillahu) and Chinese Massage Parlour workers was done on the behest of Ijaz ul Haq and Shujaat Hussain.

And why would the Jamia people risk their lives after these bureaucrats, who are notorious for their ill-loyalty to any government in its last days?

Moreover, Hamid Mir’s states another fact in his Jang newspaper column, (http://www.jang.com.pk/jang/jul2007-daily/19-07-2007/col3.htm), whereby a Private High School girl takes the responsibility of requesting the Jamia Hafsa authorities to take action against the masseuses and Aunty Shamim.

Conflicting ideologies and facts. Should this be taken as a conspiracy to sideline Ijaz-ul-Haq and Shujaat. Well, possibly, as both or at least Shujaat has been showing some reticence in issues pointing directly against Islam. Does this mean, Shujaat is to bid adieu to politics? Perhaps, as the crescent of PPP is very much predicted, yet again, over the Pakistan Democracy.

Ijaz-ul-Haq, who never, ascended and used other platforms, to be on the surface of Democracy. The very current role, which is unattended, as the government claims to be a moderate one, Ijaz-ul-Haq should see his role being foiled in the next democratic scene which hangs in abeyance. Benazir might not welcome him, but she could,  as she has one of her dependable icons in her party, Shah Mehmood Qureshi, who is known to have distributed sweets after the verdict to hang was passed to Z.A.Bhutto. Vicious it is as it should be. Changing faces (Loyalties) is the real face of Democracy in Pakistan.

Now, how contorted are the facts surfacing in the media? This is the question. Jamia Hafsa, issue was ignored for 6 months before it had to be ‘manhandled’. The nine stitches were quite sore for the nation and came in late. All of a sudden, APC is planned and announced, parties are in London, Jamia starts to take the heat. Is the murder or carnage on the necks of the APC attendees? Or is it the lame and naive approach of the government, which arises from the lack of authority in the ranks when it comes to civil issues?

Whatever it may be, media is left to feed on the carcasses of the Jamia Hafsa bodies, of which, according to some reports, were deposed onto a nearby sewerage nullah. How appalling indeed.

Monday, being the first day, after a 4-month long haul for the Chief Justice. People are anticipating something to be uncovered from the ashes of Jamia Hafsa. Another story for some days, but without concocted results. At least that can be established with the current legal framework which resumed today.

Let’s see how far this innings would last at Lord’s Grounds.

Chief Justice of PakistanGen.Musharraf

Off goes the verdict and off goes the bell. Celebrations are evidenced everywhere in Pakistan. Jubilant ‘civilians’ herald the verdict as yet another milestone after the nation’s independence in 1947. Indeed it should be. Changing stances and positions and media coverage has added spice to the recent developments, ill-fated or silver lining.

But the question is, why would a government, which has a track record of manipulating issues right from the beginning of the aftermath of 9/11, would take such a step where its fallout was visible and predictable? Why would a government risk a backlash of the masses. Although Government rose from the embers of the ill-repute it has earned. Although it doesn’t blemish the position after all. But why again would such a step to be taken?

Before digging in further, let’s see some of the facts, though informally collected but nonetheless interesting.

When the Chief Justice was called in, Intelligence heads were around. Why? What role or card were they supposed to play? Secondly, Chief Justice had been in the panel, which approved the legitimacy of the Army Head to run for presidency in his uniform when the issue was first taken up years back. A point note worthy here.

With this, it can be roughly deduced, Chief Justice, the President, the Intelligence agencies have weaved up a plan to round up the PPP. Yes, PPP although seems to be cringing and desperately counting on the lines of the palms to get ahead with the deal, either suspiciously or with a hefty sacrifice on the Party’s end, the Government, no matter how benevolent towards the leadership of the party, has old scores to settle. Not to mention, the lists of the freedom fighters of Khalistan.

March 9, was when the script was handed over to the Chief Justice, to which he conceded, as he had to, but denied resigning from his office (this was the part of the script).

Possibly, the Government, which has drenched itself with much criticism and remains steadfast, would enter a deal with the PPP, the Law would also ratify it. But, this is where the mouse is trapped. Benazir travels in, the Government welcomes her, Supreme Court on the wink of the Government intervenes and the crime files are opened. Many a coffers have to be filled in, but at the expense of Bibi. Bibi is stepping in to play the last move.

Files are opened, under the notorious but blessed ‘Suo Moto’ action and Bibi has to face the fate, as the Government would shrug its shoulders saying, “Even the Military boot couldn’t make it bid adieu; but our sympathies are with you”. Eventually, her party would see her role foiled up, with much property being conceded to the Government. Charges would be put up and Bibi’s politics would see an abrupt end. Unlike her father, she would not be hanged. And that she would also not prefer; its better to put back the premiership and chairperson ship of the party and acts as a civilian. And PPP would be reduced to a meager party to form coalition every time it goes through an election. The cerebral contribution, the much lifeline of the party would history, soon.

Musharraf, is walking the same line as Ayyub Khan but with the vices of Nationalisation around him of which are the offspring like corruption and red tape culture, thanks to Z.A.Bhutto. Musharraf was keen enough to change the strategic innuendos and standing of the country. But he has to creep in where other nations found it easily surpassing it.

Justice Chaudhary Iftikhar, is not a product of incidence but a depiction of keen and insightful selection of elements who would be defining the next role of Pakistan in the coming years.

Vicious it is as it is. Truth is best Twisted when sincere corrupt are playing at the helm.

What’s Next, Dear Opposition?

21 07 2007

Opposition - Bad.Habits.Go.Hard

The ruckus, the crisis of all crises, the marriage of protest and ridicule, the criticism has ended.

What‘s next, Dear Opposition? Yeah, another protest as to why the CJ was out of office all these months. Or, maybe, another one to restore and renovate his loo. You need a reason to live. And a reason to make a living.

A reason always, to be on the screens, on the ‘American Satellites‘, on the Umreeki papers to be the favourite hodgepodge coterie needed for the upcoming elections. Tickets are to be sold again. Loyalties with gleeful smiles and promises. The drama folds and unfolds in the same way.
Same faces, different parties. The fate remain the same.

What‘s next, Dear Opposition?
The Supreme Court gives the verdict here and the celebration starts there. The Jamia Hafsa issue is no longer heard. The cries of wounded, the misplaced, the insignificant bodies registered with eternity, the missing children; all dissipated in the hullabaloo of the celebration.
Same picture, colours different. Same picture of May 12, Carnage in Karachi and celebrations in Islamabad. But this time a bit of Religious green was there.

What‘s next, Dear Opposition?
Advocates of Democracy, the anti-Military-rule doctrine preaching minds; can they point out any legitimate reason to go for Democracy, the democratic representation?
What if this issue came up during the Democratic rule? Would it have been in a fragile setup (coalition government, one threatening to side by CJ, supposedly, and another opposing), able to contain it.
But look here, a swift and a thoughtful card, is played and many are hushed.
The memorable of love stories are tragic where the love bonds but lovers don‘t. Devdas in case.
But the case in point, CJ gets married to his job again.

What‘s next, Dear Opposition?
The same cronies, who sided with Nawaz, are under the umbrella of Musharraf. Is it Musharraf‘s fault? Same loyal figures would be seen badmouthing him. This is assured.
At least, military chooses the most shapest, the smartest, the sly piece who could take up this chess game with many players at a time. Media, Foreign lobbies, neighbours, Foreign investment, interior ministry, common man. Everyone has to be taken care of, at the expense of any one of these, or all of these. Vicious it is as it is.

Double game, double face, double standards, rich richer poor poorer. Musharraf being lauded as reliable partner, sometimes put to test for siding with, hideously though, with the Talibanese, the Chinese.

What would have democracy done in this case. Some would have resigned just to add more fuel to the fire. Some would have been lull. Most would have had changed parties.
But here, started the issue, took the criticism, face is stoned, put the lid back, back to square one.
What goes around, comes around.

Reading Orya Maqbool Jan, today‘s edition of Express (www.express.com.pk), citing the Spanish General who took Army recruitment in 1888, went ahead to be the head of the state, crushed the masses, unemployment was rampant, no industry, his cabinet was promoted but the end seemed to be not favouring the General. Had to flee the armed agitation. Died ignoble death out of Diabetes.

Why is 2007 compared to 1888? Were there India and Afghanistan as neighbours? Was there America to poke itself around? Nuclear states? Shaikh Rasheed?
Name any odd even. Not even far enough is there any similarity.
However, fate of the latter is predicted with the former. One what grounds?
Through all these series of melodramatic soap show, through 2006, Musharraf proved to be unnerved. No matter how hard tried, this ain‘t the place to nail in.

Argument gets longer, but concluding, democracy altogether is a toddler which wants Pakistan to kneel as well as itself.

But what‘s next, dear Opposition?

And yes, America grits its defeat in Afghanistan, yet again. The land cannot be captured or won, Uncle Sam prepares to proceed to Pakistan, for where it has prepared legitimate but unfounded proof on Al-Qaeda. This would be third and Final American wish and blunder. Every sequel ends on third, with Harry Potter as the exception. America is not an exception, neither is this a fantasy land weaved by Pentagon.
